New strategies to reconcile gene expression data to their corresponding proteins.
Presenter: Matt Kuruc - President
The ProFACT/MGL collaboration targets key challenges in translating clinically relevant data developed from the superabundance of Gene Expression research into biomarkers and ultimately, into new therapies. This has been especially difficult because of the poor correlation between gene expression data and Mass Spec proteomic data.
Also, as gene product expression does not always correlate to protein activity, functional characterization of proteomes becomes necessary – especially for drug discovery. As a result, new molecular profiling methods are required to investigate the small molecule modulation of macromolecules, which having flexible structures, transiently exist in a continuum of structural and functional states.
To these ends, the ProFACTMGL collaboration provides:
- Query-driven rules to prioritize the exploitation of a client-driven gene set (or panel) based on clinical goals, biological significance, costs, and detection methodologies.
- Enrichment strategies that create and exploit proteomic datasets consisting of expression, abundance and function.
- A bioinformatics knowledgebase that collects and references the most practical measureable protein attributes for a client project.
This webinar will describe Rational Genome to Proteome Prospecting™, a joint new strategy to better reconcile gene expression with their corresponding protein products.
