The Proteomics Drug Development Gap
Proteins, not genes, are the principal active engines of biology, comprising the primary intervention targets for pharmaceuticals. Proteomics thus supersedes Genomics, of all the "Omics" disciplines of Systems Biology, as the most promising generator of information translatable to healthcare. Nevertheless, after a decade of concerted discovery effort, therapeutic expectations remain largely unfulfilled.
omics Information Universe
Proteomic efforts to date principally utilize Mass Spectrometry, which can identify low abundance proteins broadly and sensitively. However, Mass Spec data sets can only characterize peptide constituent lists derived from whole proteins - not the intact, bioactive proteins themselves. Commonly, differences derived from comparing disease to normal states are reconciled to gene databases. This approach is critically flawed when the same or similar gene sequences produce distinct protein conformations with important biological consequences. Particularly in the cases of cancers and neuro-degenerative diseases, the need to differentiate, select and functionally annotate conformational variants is of strategic therapeutic necessity. A new, functional paradigm for Proteomics is needed.
SeraFILE™ omics Information Universe
ProFACT's proprietary platform, SeraFILE™ fulfills this purpose. Through the integration of unprecedented advances in separations technology to coincide with data-reporting infrastructure already available, functional proteomic characterizations can be more precisely defined.

Partnerships and Services
ProFACT works with clients on both a partnership and fee-for-service basis:
Partnerships typically take the form of a negotiated contribution from both parties, with both sides participating in the results and discoveries.
Fee-for-service relationships are client sponsored research whereby the client enjoys unimpeded, complete and exclusive rights, subject to no further compensation, to exploit all information and discoveries that arise from such research.
Confidentiality: ProFACT will not disclose any information obtained in the course of the services provided to clients without the express consent of the client. Confidentiality Agreements are often executed.
